Rosa Regale for Mother's Day

Hey Everyone! Hope you have had some good tastings. Still waiting to hear some here! We would all love to know what to get. So I missed Mother's Day week blogging due to our busy schedule...we've all been there. So this week i'm going to recap some things we did and some stuff my mom loves. And we are also going to talk about some picks from Jake's mom. That woman knows how to find white bargains that are tasty as all get out.

So Mother's Day at my house always consists of a BBQ and a croquet game. (we aren't sure how that started). For my mom I got her a bottle of Rosa Regale to pair with chocolate covered caramels and some dark chocolate squares. My momma isn't a huge red fan and i'm not sure if it causes migranes but we went with it anyway. It was a hit!

Rosa Regale

This little bottle is a delight to have. The simple way to describe it is as moscatos red headed cousin. Exotic and luscious this wine is a must buy. While it is about $11-12 for cost which isn't too bad except it's a smaller bottle (about half the normal size?). The good thing is you won't regret the purchase and you won't guzzle this either. You'll want to sip it and savor the flavor!

Rosa Regal is a DOCG wine from Italy. It comes from a small vineyard owned by the Banif Vintners. It's an old world style wine called a Brachetto. And this is the vintner that has brought that back. It was popular at European Courts. A present fit for a queen. It's a sweet sparkling red wine that has a rather low alcohol content. It uses 100% Brachetto grapes and where else can you get such a neat semi-dry red. It's made in an Italian style that is great for sparkling wines that are to be enjoyed young and fresh.

Rosa Regal smells of roses and sweet ripe fruits. And it tastes just the same. It has a strawberry raspberry flavor with just a touch of dryness. The bubbles are very small and are like velvet in your mouth. While this wine will go through the whole dinner because of it's low alcohol content, I did a traditional pairing with dark chocolate for my mom. We had it with 72% dark chocolate square. The best way to do this is take a small piece and let it melt and coat your mouth then take a sip of Rosa Regale and it's like a cherry cordial in your mouth. It also does great as an aperitif.

Tomorrow we will go over some of Jake's mom's favorites. While Rosa Regal can be an every day wine I tend to think because of it's color being ruby red and it's special packaging that it's a wonderful treat and present; but, tomorrow the wines will have you ready to try by the weekend. These will truly be everyday, budget friendly, cheap wines with great flavor. Total value in a bottle!
